SnapStream Media Launches Award-Winning Beyond TV and Beyond TV Link in Germany, France and the UK
August 4, 2005 - SnapStream Media, Inc., a leader in digital home entertainment products, announced today the launch of localized French, German, and British versions of its award-winning DVR software, Beyond TV.
SnapStream’s European launch allows European consumers to download the
English, French or German-language free 21-day trial for Beyond TV and Beyond
TV Link and then purchase product in local currencies online. Local microsites
have been launched at:

President and CEO Rakesh Agrawal believes that the extensive features
for which Beyond TV is known will be very popular with European consumers.
“Beyond TV has been known for years here in North America for its ease
of use and power. We’re expecting to make a big splash in Germany, France
and the UK with features like SmartSkip™, which allows users to quickly
watch recorded shows by skipping blocks of commercials or other parts of the
show, and ShowSqueeze™, which saves hard drive space and makes shows
portable,” said Mr. Agrawal. “We think that our European customers,
like our American ones, will be impressed with our DVR products.”
SnapStream has partnered with European program guide provider tvtv to offer
web-based program guide information for European customers using Beyond TV.
Tvtv offers detailed show information and provides web-based remote recording
options for customers living in Germany, England, Austria, Spain, France, Italy,
the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Initially, SnapStream is only offering its Beyond TV and Beyond TV Link products
in Europe. The initial European release of Beyond TV supports analog television
and will be followed by software updates that add, among other things, support
for popular European digital TV formats DVB-T and DVB-S.
