SnapStream Media Launches Beyond TV 4.5 with Optional DVD Burning Plug-in
New release of award-winning software makes it easy to transform an ordinary
PC into a DVR and burn TV shows to DVD.
Houston, November 16, 2006- SnapStream Media, Inc. announced
today the release of version 4.5 of its award-winning Beyond TV PC DVR software.
And with Beyond TV 4.5, SnapStream also released an optional plug-in to Beyond
TV, the DVD Burning Plug-in, that allows users to easily burn DVDs of their
recorded TV shows.
In keeping with SnapStream's design philosophy of "simple and powerful",
the new DVD Burning Plug-in integrates seamlessly into Beyond TV and makes
it easy to burn DVDs of recorded shows, while at the same time it sports a
number of powerful features:
- Fully integrated and easy to use: The DVD Burning Plug-in is accessible
from the Beyond TV main menu and is designed to be used with a remote control
or keyboard and mouse, just like Beyond TV.
- Polished DVD menus with TV show
metadata: Burned DVDs contain metadata for TV shows, like title, episode
name and original air date and the menus have
the same polished look of the Beyond TV interface.
- Video DVDs and data DVDs
supported: Users can choose between burning recorded shows to a video DVD
or data DVD. Video DVDs work with almost all standalone
DVD players, while data DVDs are perfect for backups and compatible with
newer DivX and Windows Media DVD players.
- SmartSkip™ compatible: Beyond TV's SmartSkip™ chapters
are also burned to DVD so users can skip commercials while watching burned
DVDs.
- DiscSqueeze™ Compression: SnapStream's DiscSqueeze™ compression
technology automatically fits all your shows onto a video DVD.
- Windows Media
and DivX supported: In addition to support for recordings made in MPEG-2
(program streams), the DVD Burning Plug-in also supports recordings
made in Windows Media and DivX.
- All popular DVD formats supported: All popular
DVD and Mini DVD formats including DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R
DL, and DVD-RAM are supported.
"I'm proud of the hard work that our team here at SnapStream has
put into Beyond TV 4.5 and the new DVD Burning Plug-in. Beyond TV has always
made it easy to record TV shows with your PC. And now it's easy to make great
looking DVDs of those shows too," said Rakesh Agrawal, CEO and president
of SnapStream Media.
