The "backup and restore" options are a function of Beyond TV 4 that are most likely to be used by the Technical Support department, but a user may find value in the ability to back up Beyond TV 4's settings before making major modifications to its configuration, or to backup on one machine and restore on another, if upgrading computers. To access this feature, right-click on the Beyond TV 4 System Tray Icon, an example of which is shown below:
The following menu will appear:
Select "About Beyond TV." Another menu will appear:
Click Beyond TV Backup or Beyond TV Restore to backup or restore, respectively, Beyond TV 4's settings. A warning screen will appear similar to this example when using either function:
After clicking "Yes," the user will be asked for the location and filename of the file to save the settings to, or to retrieve the settings from:
Navigate to the location to store or from which to retrieve the ZIP file. Once the proper location has been chosen, hit Save if using the backup function, or Open if using the restore function. The operation will then begin, and will display a success message when finished.
WARNING! When running a Beyond TV Restore, ALWAYS use a backup file fro the SAME VERSION of Beyond TV that you are currently running. NEVER attempt to restore a backup from one version onto another version. This will cause undesired operation.
