Folder pooling allows the creation of a "super-folder" that includes multiple video folders. The primary purpose of folder pooling is to create video folders that span multiple drives. Because Windows limits the size of hard drives to 2 TB, users who want to have access to more than 2 TB of storage int heir default video folder must use folder pooling.
To create a folder pool:
1. Create a video folder on each drive using the Video Folders page in the Web Admin.
2. After each folder is created, click Edit to open the Edit a Video Folder page.
3. Set Folder Pooling to Enabled.
Beyond TV will now treat the folder pool as if it is one folder that spans all of the pooled folders, even if they are on separate drives.
Folder Management
Folder pools and folders added to a pool cannot be managed manually. The pool will automatically aggregate the maximum and minimum space settings of the drives on which its pooled folders are located. These options can be set for individual drives in the Expiration Manager, but the pool's maximum and minimum space settings cannot be edited directly.
