Most TV Tuner Cards have one coaxial TV input for video reception. The coaxial connection is the simplest to use because it carries both audio and video, and thus is the recommended connection type for all broadcast sources. The coaxial connection is the only supported option for Analog Cable and Antenna broadcasts.
Many TV Tuner Cards have Composite and/or S-Video inputs, as well. These options are only available for Digital Cable or Satellite broadcast sources, or for recording from other sources such as video cameras.
Connect the coaxial cable from the coaxial output (from the wall, or from a splitter) to the coaxial input on the back of the TV tuner card. Refer to the pictures below for an example of a coaxial plug / connector.
