HD recordings made with version 4.8.2 or earlier of Beyond TV contain all of the subchannels (minor channels) on the major channel. For example, let's say that in a given lineup, channel 15 has three subchannels:
A recording scheduled on 15-2 is completed, but the resulting file also contains the video streams from 15-1 and 15-3.
StreamSnip allows deletion of these undesired streams, which not only drastically reduces the size of the HD recordings, but also prepares them for processing by other programs which are not capable of switching subchannels.
NOTE: In version 4.9 and later of Beyond TV, StreamSnip is performed automatically on all HD recordings.
