Company Profile
SnapStream is a software company based in Houston,
Texas focused on building great user experiences through software. We're best
known for our Beyond TV PC DVR software and
SnapStream Enterprise, our television search appliance.
The
company
was founded in 2000 and the first version of our PC DVR software, then
known as Personal Video Station, was released in early
2001. Later that year, version 2 of SnapStream's
PC DVR product was showcased in Bill Gates' keynote address
at the Windows XP
Launch. Version 3 was launched in May 2003 and Beyond TV 4 began shipping in
November 2005.
Over
the history of
Beyond TV, we have focused on making Beyond TV and PC DVR as easy as
possible while being innovative and taking advantage
of the latest consumer technologies like home networking, faster CPUs,
DVD burners,
portable
video
players and
HDTV.
Here are some things that have been said about SnapStream's
Beyond TV over the years:

“Beyond TV blows away the competition…Overall,
SnapStream remains the leader in
television-viewing software.” - Matthew Fordahl, Associated Press,
March 2004
“Proving that a PC can rival TiVo.” - Associated
Press, March 2004
“The bottom line is that Beyond TV is hands down, the
best PVR software we’ve tested for the PC” - Maximum PC, October
2006
In
February 2007, we released Couchville.com, a website for online TV listings.
Couchville's vision was to provide a simple and effective website for
information about TV shows. It received widespread praise including positive reviews on TechCrunch and Digg. In early 2008, SnapStream shutdown the Couchville.com website.
And in late 2007, we began shipping SnapStream Enterprise. SnapStream Enterprise is a turn-key television search appliance. It allows organizations to record hundreds and thousands of hours of television and then search inside those recordings by keyword.
