How to watch Beyond TV recordings on a Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP)

With all the capabilities Sony’s PlayStation® Portable (PSP™), it was only a matter of time until this unit became more than just a gaming system. It not only lets users take games, music, videos and photos on the road, but is also an excellent portable player for TV content recorded with our Beyond TV PVR software.

In this how-to article, I’m going to walk you through the steps to get TV shows recorded with Beyond TV onto your PlayStation Portable.

The Ten-Tuner Hydra PVR

That's right SnapStream Media fans, we're at it again and this time around we've taken Beyond TV's versatility to the next level. We know how much you love the Medusa with it's SIX tuner capability, so when we received word about the release of the PVR-500MCE dual tuner, we knew we had to give you more. With The Hydra, you now have the ability to record TEN shows at the same time. We built Hydra here at SnapStream to show the newly revised multi-tuner capabilities of Beyond TV 3.5 using off-the-shelf PC parts. (Posted on February 8, 2005)

Community Contributed: Have a Custom Channel Order in Beyond TV with XMLTV

This is a community contributed article by Niel Markwick.

A common feature of TVs and Videos (at least in Europe!) is to have the ability to re-order the TV channels to a favourite order defined by the user, eg with his 9 favouite channels on 1-9, or grouped by language etc. SnapStream Beyond TV cannot do this (yet). The channel numbers are the frequency indexes used by DirectX, so I have figured out a workaround.

Feature: Transform your Toaster Oven

A TV toaster you might ask? What is a TV toaster? A TV toaster is a computer designed to do digital video editing. But Zack Price, -dashwrx to some, has taken this idea to a new level. His TV toaster doesn't do video editing but it does use SnapStream Beyond TV 3 to do digital video capture. Using a miniITX form factor motherboard Zack has transformed a normal household toaster oven into a digital video recorder that smokes the competition.
