Advanced Recorded Shows Search

The "Recorded Shows" section of the Web Admin interface, available from the Web Admin sidebar menu, allows users to search title, description, and closed-captioning text for instances of the search term.

To perform a simple search, enter a word, or a search string (as described in the Search Help appendix), in the text field next to the "Search" button.

Optionally, click the "Advanced Options" link to specify additional parameters:  
 
·Click the checkboxes to define the data in which to search.  
·Use Quick Dates to search for recordings made Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year, or Last Year.  
·Select Date Range and enter Start and End dates (in the MM/DD/YYYY format) to narrow the search to shows that were recorded within the specified date range.  
·Use the Category Filter to restrict your search to a single genre.  
·Enter a Channel number or callsign to restrict your search to a single channel.  
·Click Search Tips to view the Search Help chart.  
 
 
Then, click the "Search" button to initiate the search. The search engine will shortly present results similar to the example below:

NOTE: Clicking on Play will open a dialog box like the one below. Click Open to play back the video.

Each hit the search finds will provide up to six options.  

1.The Title of the show, and the link labeled Play, will play the recording in the Viewscape interface.  
2.The View Transcript link will open a transcript of the recording's closed-captioning text.  
3.The Download Transcript link enables the user to download the transcript of the recording's closed-captioning text in TXT file format.  
6.The More link will take the user directly to the recording's Options page (See Recorded Shows -- Options for more information.)
