The next step of the Setup Wizard ensures that the system meets the requirements for recording and playback of digital / HDTV content. If either of these requirements are not met, a red "X" will appear next to the item being checked, as below:
Click the "more info" link for assistance in meeting these requirements. Hit BACK once and ensure that these requirements are met. Then, hit NEXT. The following should then be displayed:
Once these requirements are met, hit NEXT.
The next step involves identifying the capture device to be used for this video input. The name of the device is chosen by the drivers being used, which are usually provided by the manufacturer.
In the screenshot below, the user could be installing a Hauppauge PVR-150, PVR-250, PVR-350, or PVR-500. If the system has only one tuner to configure, there will only be one selection available. If the system has more than one tuner available, each will be assigned a number to assist in identification.
If no devices appear in this list, the tuner card was not detected; check the installation of the TV tuner card (hardware) and the drivers (software) associated with this device.
After selecting the proper capture device, hit NEXT and proceed to the next section of this document.
