The ability to record a show on any channel enables a user to record a given show from any channel on which it airs. To use this function, first schedule a recording job with "Record All Episodes" on the "preferred channel," the channel on which the most amount of recordings will be scheduled. In the case of a movie, the "preferred channel" setting does not apply.
Once scheduled, override the defaults on the recording job. To do this, start at the home menu, an example of which is shown below:
Select "Setup Recordings," which will enter the following menu:
Select "Recording Settings and Priorities." The "Recording Priorities" screen will appear, an example of which is shown below.
Select a recording job and hit OK or ENTER, or click on the desired recording job.
If an episodic show is selected, the following menu will appear:
If a movie is selected, the following menu will appear:
Select "View and edit details." The following screen will appear:
Change the "Record on" value to "Any Channel" by highlighting the item and hitting the left or right arrow. The recording will now be made on any channel airing the show.
