"Browse by Category" enables the user to search the entire Program Guide data for shows matching a chosen genre. To access it, start at the Home menu, an example of which is shown below:

Select "Setup Recordings," which will enter the following menu:

Select "Browse by Category," and the screen pictured below will appear.

Note that categories are often duplicated in subsequent tiers; e.g. although "Animated" and "Children" are both top-level categories, there is an "Animated" subcategory under "Children," and vice-versa. There is also an "All" selection that will enable the user to see every subcategory nested within the category that has already been selected.

Select a category to begin with:
·Keyboard: Use the UPARROW and DOWNARROW keys to move the selection bar once, or the PGUP or PGDN keys to move up or down by page. Hit ENTER when the desired category is highlighted.  
·Mouse: Use the scroll wheel or click on the arrows provided to scroll to the desired entry. Click on the desired category when it is found.  
·Remote Control: Use the directional pad to move the selection bar in increments of one, or use the CHUP or CHDN buttons (only works on specific models of remotes) to move up or down by page. Hit OK or ENTER when the desired category is highlighted.

Select a subcategory in the same manner as above. The following screen appears:

Select a show to record. As in previous examples, the options presented on the next screen depend on the type of show being selected:

If an episodic show is selected, the following options will be available:
If a movie is selected, the following options will be available:
·Record this episode: Begins recording this episode from the point Live TV first began showing it.  
·Record all episodes: Records all episodes of the selected show on that channel.  
·Record all new episodes: Records only first-run episodes of the selected show on the channel.  
·View upcoming episodes: Displays a list of upcoming episodes of the show and their airtimes, enabling the user to schedule any of them for recording.  

·Record this movie at this time: Begins recording the movie from the point Live TV first began showing it.  
·Record this movie within 30 days: Enables the SnapStream Enterprise TV Server to delay the recording of this movie in case other recordings scheduled conflict with it. Read more about scheduling conflicts in the "Conflict Resolution" section of this document.  
·View upcoming airings of this movie: Displays a list of times and dates this movie will be airing in the future (if any), allowing the user to schedule any of them for recording.  


Once the desired selection has been made, the recording will be added to the queue of upcoming recordings.
