I already own a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600.

Great news! Beyond TV 4 works extremely well with the HVR-1600, including it's built-in IR blaster (see details below). You can download a risk-free 21-day trial and take Beyond TV 4 for a spin. (Note: you might want to review Beyond TV's system requirements).

The trial is identical to the full version of Beyond TV except for the 21-day limit. So if you like Beyond TV, you can purchase it and upgrade by simply entering a product key into the trial (ie you won't have to uninstall, reinstall and reconfigure Beyond TV). And if you don't like Beyond TV, you can simply and safely un-install Beyond TV and never have to worry about it again!

I don't have a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600, but I'm considering buying one.

How Beyond TV works with the HVR-1600

(In these instructions, we are assuming that you have your HVR-1600 and its drivers already installed.)

1. Connect your HVR-1600 to your TV source (antenna, regular cable, digital cable, or satellite set-top box)

2. Satellite and digital cable users: Connect the HVR-1600 IR blaster from the TV tuner to your set-top box (see this PDF on how Beyond TV works with satellite and digital cable for more info)

3. Over-the-air HD users: Connect the included antenna to the TV tuner card.

4. Install and configure Beyond TV (our setup wizard walks you through setting up the HVR-1600, including its IR blaster)

5. Schedule recordings and enjoy your favorite TV!
