Firefly PC Remote Delivers NewsGator
 

NewsGator aggregates news feeds then delivers it to both Microsoft® Outlook and SnapStream Spotlight. Save time by subscribing to news feeds that interest you and having it delivered via the Spotlight interface.

Accessing Spotlight
To access Spotlight you will need to have Firefly PC Remote in hand and Beyond Media Basic installed. If you don’t already have Firefly PC Remote, learn about the ultimate PC Remote now.

Turn on Beyond Media Basic and click the down arrow in the main menu to get to the SnapStream Spotlight option. Click the OK button.

Choose NewsGator
You are in Spotlight now. You will have a few content service choices. To find interesting news articles to read and rich media to watch, click the down arrow on your Firefly PC Remote until NewsGator is selected and click the OK button.



Subscribe to NewsGator
To use the site first create an account. Subscription fees start at $5.95 a month. Learn more about subscriptions at www.newsgator.com.



Search The Feeds and Subscribe

When you have an account, login and search the feeds. If you don’t see anything interesting, go to www.newsgator.com to search through thousands of news options. When you find a feed that interests you, scroll to the Subscribe button with the directional arrow buttons on your Firefly PC Remote and click the OK button to select that feed.

Viewing Your Feeds
If you are logged in, you will see a snapshot all newly released stories. When you go to the My Feeds section, you only see updates to feeds to which you subscribe. Use the Firefly PC Remote directional arrows to browse articles and the OK button to make selections.  

Select an Article

When you find a headline that appeal to you, select the headline and click the OK button to view the article. The article is often accompanied by audio and video aids. After reading the article the user can play the multimedia portion of the article using the play, pause, rewind and fast-forward buttons on Firefly PC Remote.

When you are done with the article, click Delete Post with the OK button and the article will be removed from your list.
