The Player Settings page allows modification of playback behavior in the ViewScape interface.

Preferred MPEG-2 Decoder
The MPEG-2 decoder Beyond TV will use when playing back MPEG-2 recordings or Timeshifted Live TV. Included are the "SnapStream" and "Cyberlink" "Video / SP Decoder," and the "SnapStream Basic" decoder. Other MPEG-2 decoders can be used if they are installed on the system, but may not work perfectly in Beyond TV.

De-Interlacing Mode
Enables de-interlacing on playback. Enable this option if, during scenes of motion (especially panning left-to-right), the edges of distinct objects look "jagged" or like the teeth of a comb. The "software" settings will use your computer's CPU to deinterlace the video, causing a rise in CPU usage, but generally give the best quality playback. The "Hardware" setting, which only applies if the Video Renderer is configured as "3d accelerated," will attempt to use your video card's ability to deinterlace, causing no rise in CPU usage

Video Renderer
Selects how Beyond TV plays back recordings. "3d accelerated" will use the video card's 3d acceleration to display the video. This enables transparent menus on top of video playback, like the transparent guide and the recording information. "Overlay" disables transparent menu and guide displays, but usually looks better than 3d-accelerated playback and is also inherently deinterlaced.

Channel Change Latency
The amount of time, in Live TV, that Beyond TV will wait before changing to a channel the user has scrolled to with a Channel Up or Channel Down command. The user may also force a change to this channel by hitting OK or ENTER. The setting "Wait for user enter" will ensure that Beyond TV never automatically changes to a channel scrolled to in this fashion.

Skip forward length
The amount of seconds the "Skip forward" command moves forth in a recording or Live TV.

Skip backward length
The amount of seconds the "Skip backward" command moves back in a recording or Live TV.

Reaction Delay Compensation
A user fast-forwarding or rewinding is apt to miss the desired stop point due simply to human reflex. This value specifies the amount of time Beyond TV adjusts for this reflex, or "Reaction Delay" when fast-forwarding or rewinding. For example, a user fast-forwarding through commercials wishes to replay at 3:00 into the recording, but due to the speed of fast-forwarding actually starts replaying at 3:07. A "Reaction Delay Compensation" value of 7 seconds here would actually place the user at 3:00. The same applies for rewinding.
