The "Manual Recordings" feature enables the user to arbitrarily specify the attributes of a recording job irrespective of Program Guide data. To access this feature, start at the Home menu, an example of which is shown below:

Select "Setup Recordings," which will enter the following menu:

The following options are available:

·Title: The text by which the software will refer to the recording job and the recording created by it.
·Recording Frequency: Defines if, and how, the recording should be repeated. The following values are available:
·Once: The recording will be performed only once. The Month, Day, and Year options will also be available if "Once" is selected.
·Weekly: The recording will be performed every week on the specified day. The Day of the Week option will also be available if "Weekly" is selected.
·Weekdays: The recording will be performed Monday through Friday at the specified time.
Note: If the recording starts between midnight and five AM, the recording will instead be performed Tuesday through Saturday. This is because weekday shows that air on networks at this time will instead be aired on those days.
·Daily: The recording will be performed every day.
·Start Time: The time that the recording starts.
·Duration: The duration of the recording in hours and minutes.
·Channel: The channel from which the recording will be made.

To schedule the show, highlight the "Schedule This Show" text and hit OK or ENTER, or click on it with the mouse. The recording will be added to the list of upcoming recording jobs.

To change the title, select the item and press OK or ENTER, or click on the text ("Recording 1" in the above example). The following screen will appear:
