Remote Control Setup (optional)

Beyond TV 4 can be controlled by mouse, keyboard, or remote control. A remote control is especially useful if using Beyond TV 4 as a "ten foot" application. In such a setup, Beyond TV 4 displays on a television set or large monitor, and a wireless remote control is the simplest and most convenient way to control Beyond TV 4's ViewScape interface. Remote controls can be found in our online store at store.snapstream.com or can be purchased from a number of retailers, online or otherwise.

The SnapStream Firefly remote is one such remote control, specifically designed for use with Beyond TV 4.

If using a Firefly remote with Beyond TV 4, install it first and then configure it as specified during installation.

If Beyond TV 4 was installed before the Firefly remote, simply shut down Beyond TV 4, install Firefly, and restart Beyond TV 4.

If a remote control will be used with Beyond TV 4, simply follow the manufacturer's directions for setup. Ensure that the remote is functioning properly prior to installing Beyond TV 4. The Beyond TV 4 Setup Wizard, which runs automatically after installation of Beyond TV 4, will allow selection of which remote will control Beyond TV 4. If the remote control was installed after Beyond TV 4, simply run the Setup Wizard (available from the same Program Group as Beyond TV 4) again to choose the remote.

Other remote control options are available, although they are not officially supported by SnapStream. Remote controls compatible with Girder can work with Beyond TV.

After finishing the Setup Wizard and starting Beyond TV 4, the remote can be tested in the ViewScape interface.

Note: For a complete list of the remote controls supported for use with Beyond TV 4, please refer to the Beyond TV System Requirements page.
