Using the Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard configures Beyond Media for your system. You can configure it automatically, or manually.

While the wizard is running, you can use the back button to go back and make changes.

Note: If Beyond Media is running, you must quit before running the Setup Wizard.

To use the Setup Wizard:
1.When you install Beyond Media, the Setup Wizard starts automatically. You can also run the Setup Wizard at any time. To start the wizard manually, select Start > Programs > SnapStream Media > Beyond Media > Beyond Media Setup Wizard).

2.Click Next.  
The Express / Custom Setup screen appears.

3.   Select Choose my settings automatically. If you select this option, the wizard configures Beyond Media for you and you can skip to step 19.
   OR
   Select Let me choose my own settings.
   The Media Directories screen appears.
   Beyond Media maintains media directories for each different type of media. A list of directories for each type of media file (music, photo, and video) is maintained separately. You can have the installer search your computer to find media directories automatically.

4.   Click Search my computer for media, to have the installer search your computer for folders that contain media files, and add shortcuts for the folders. A list of the folders found is displayed. Use the next set of wizard screens to add or remove folders from the list for each category.
Note: This can take some time.  
OR  
Click Do not Search for Media.  
The Music Directories screen appears.

5.   View, add, or remove selected music directories. If you select a directory to remove, click Yes to confirm the removal. Use the Back and Next buttons to navigate back and forth.

6.   When you are finished, click Done.
   The Photo Directories screen appears.

7.   View, add, or remove selected photo directories.

8.   When you are finished, click Done.
   The Video Directories screen appears.

9.   View, add, or remove selected video directories.

10.   When you are finished, click Done.
   The Audio associations screen appears. It contains a list of audio file types (such as wav and mp3).

11.   Click the checkbox for each desired file type, to select it. Associated files will open in Beyond Media (for example, when you double-click them).

12.   Click Next.
   The Video associations screen appears. It contains a list of video file types (such as avi and mpeg).

13.   Click the checkbox for each desired file type, to select it.

14.   Click Next.
   The Appearance / Theme screen appears.

15.   Move your mouse button over a theme to see a preview of it.

16.   Click the desired theme to select it.

17.   Click Next.
   If you have the firefly remote installed, the Firefly screen appears. Otherwise, skip to step 19.

18.   Select whether to launch Beyond Media when you click the Firefly button on your Firefly remote, or to not change your Firefly settings.
   Note: Your initial settings were configured when you installed the Firefly remote.      

19.   Click Next.
   Your current settings are displayed.

20.   Click Next.
   The Setup Complete screen appears.

21.   Click Finish and Launch Beyond Media.
   OR
   Click Finish without Launching Beyond Media.
   The Setup wizard finishes.
