Profiles

Firefly Profiles are XML files that map certain buttons on the Firefly Remote to specific actions and controls in a particular software application. Each application that is supported by Firefly has its own Profile document that identifies the application to the Firefly software and tells the Firefly software how to control the application. If there is no Profile document for an application, the Default Profile document tells the Firefly Remote how to perform many common functions in a wide range of applications.

For example, Microsoft PowerPoint is an application supported by Firefly. The Profile document, Powerpoint-Microsoft-2003.xml, maps specific buttons on the Firefly Remote to do such common tasks in PowerPoint as start a slideshow, skip to the next slide, etc. For a complete list of applications that are supported by Firefly, refer to the document Supported Applications.

All Firefly Profile documents reside in the following path on your PC:

C:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\Snapstream\Firefly\Profiles

NOTE: We recommend that only advanced users make modifications to these documents, as incorrect edits may cause your Firefly Remote to perform incorrectly with certain applications.
